The Ngarimu VET Scholarships recognise excellence in education, performance, and achievement, and are awarded to exceptional ākonga Māori who are enrolling in or undertaking an eligible vocational education and training course.
These prestigious scholarships are funded by the Ngarimu VC and 28th (Māori) Battalion Memorial Scholarship Fund Board with the purpose of honouring Victoria Cross recipient Second Lieutenant Te Moana-nui-a-Kiwa Ngarimu and the 28th (Māori) Battalion.
There are 3 Ngarimu VET Scholarships available for 2025, and each are valued up to $10,000 for study of a minimum of 120 credits at level 4 to 7 non-degree.
Ākonga undertaking study at level 4 must have completed years 1 and 2, and are enrolling in a subsequent year of their apprenticeship.
Applications can be submitted in English or Te Reo Māori.
